1.
KNOW YOUR
YOURSELF, KNOW YOUR STYLE.
Knowing your own personal style will
start by knowing yourself. Because your style depends on what things you like most, your
favourites, who do you hang out with,
where do you hang out, what interest you most, your attitude, your skills and
of course whose your fashion inspiration.
2.
FOLLOW YOUR
STYLE.
After knowing who you are and what’s your style. Now
you need to focus on creating looks by your own
style, for example based on
your self-evaluation you’ll come up being a person who is playful yet you’re a
bookworm and someone who loves hanging out at coffee shop so your look should
be colourful but not too bright and not too revealing.Another example is if you
are fascinated with vintage stuffs and you love to party and hang out on clubs
your best look would be something retro-disco from the 80’s and you’ll probably
into metallic, sparkly and neon colored clothes.
3.
CONSIDER
EVERYTHING.
In putting up an outfit there are a lot of things to
consider:
i)
The fabric – there are different of kinds of
fabric; heavy, light, flowy, etc.
ii) The colour –the
colours of your outfit should always complement each other as well as your skin
tone.
iii) The design – clothes
with weird designs are somehow awesome but not all the time it depends on what,
where and when you’ll going to wear it.
iv) The
temperature – of course this is essential to consider unless you want to
look like a loser wearing a jacket on a hot sunny day.
v) The place – A real fashionista know what, where and when
to wear things. Always put in mind that being a fashionista is not
always about wearing the nicest clothes but more of wearing the appropriate
clothes for the place or event.
vi) The people – being
different from everyone is awesome but always consider who you’ll be hanging
out with because you might look like a loser or a “wanna be” if wear something
in appropriate.
4.
EXEPERIMENT
AND BE CREATIVE.
Be CREATIVE! Old clothes as well as the seldom used clothes
can be so much more if you’ll going to be creative and experimental, try to
look on the internet for fashion DIY’s and how to wear old stuffs or clothes in
a different way. As well as to accessories try to make your own. Learn to reinvent a new one using the old ones.
5.
YOU CANNOT
MIX AND MATCH EVERYTHING.
Mix and matching have a limitation. FACT: nice clothes + awesome clothes ≠ great look, some
great pieces looks best when match with the more simple ones. Colours as well
should be complimentary to each other unless you want to look like a rainbow
LOL, I guess 3-4 colours per look is the best.
6.
FOCUS ON
THE STYLE NOT ON THE PRICE.
The most expensive ones are not
always the most stylish ones. There are cheaper clothes that look more expensive
than real expensive clothes. It is more on how you wear it whether it is a
handy-down or from a thrift shop if you can wear it proud and stylish. I’m sure
you’ll be the eye of the crowd.
7.
OUTFIT =
ATTITUDE
A perfect look goes with a winning
attitude. You should be confident about yourself how you look and how
you act; think smart, act smart, talk smart and be proud.
Chin up and stand up straight, a great posture tells
it all.
8.
DON’T BE
TOO MUCH OR TOO LESS.
Over dress and under dress is a NO. Wearing too much
somehow looks good as well as wearing too less but this will just do if you are
aiming to look like a gypsy, a pirate and a scavenger.
9.
NEVER LOOK
DIRTY.
No one will take you seriously if you’ll look like a
beggar, accept it, the world is judgmental and the first thing most people
will notice is your physical appearance next is your attitude then your skills.
How you look is so much important to be accepted in our society. So you should
always look clean even in a pirate costume.
10. BE CONFIDENT.
Any outfit with confidence is perfect.
Well said :)
